Embark on one of the world's most extraordinary wildlife encounters — tracking endangered mountain gorillas in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This 3-day adventure from Nairobi or Entebbe combines thrilling gorilla trekking with Bwindi's lush forest atmosphere and authentic community experiences.
Morning flight from Nairobi to Entebbe International Airport. Met by your guide and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (approximately 7–8 hours, or charter option available). Pass through Kampala, stop at the Equator for photos, and traverse Uganda's beautiful tea and coffee plantations. Arrive at your lodge in time for dinner and a comprehensive briefing on gorilla trekking protocols.
The highlight of your entire trip. After an early breakfast, report to the Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger station for your gorilla trek briefing. Accompanied by experienced trackers and rangers, trek into the forest to find your allocated gorilla family. Spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants — silverbacks, mothers nursing infants, juveniles playing — just metres away. Return to lodge for lunch and optional afternoon Bwindi community walk or Batwa pygmy experience.
Morning at leisure — optional forest walk or bird watching. After breakfast, begin the return drive to Entebbe Airport with an evening flight back to Nairobi, arriving the same evening.
Bwindi is a dense tropical rainforest and UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its population of mountain gorillas. Trekking through its lush greenery offers unforgettable encounters with wildlife and an opportunity to explore local Batwa communities.
